So you're a fanatic. You live and breathe for your favourite event. You just have to see every move, every round, assess every team's form in preparation for the gold medal event. One of the ticket options to the Games is a season ticket guaranteeing a seat at every session of an event, dubbed by SOCOG the Sports Pass.

While some season tickets are offered at a discount and others at face value, there is one big catch - if you want a guaranteed ticket to events at which Australians are expected to win medals, be prepared to pay a premium, of more than 100 per cent in some cases.

If table tennis is your thing, for example, you can get a guaranteed seat to all 27 sessions for a $782 discount. But book your guaranteed seat to all seven sessions of track cycling or two sessions of the triathlon and you'll pay a 100 per cent premium.

Season tickets are on offer in every ticketed sport bar two - artistic gymnastics and swimming- for which demand is expected to be high.

Season tickets to the equestrian, track cycling and triathlon events all incur 100 per cent premiums, reflecting the expected high demand. Beach volleyball attracts an 82 per cent premium, and diving up to 60 per cent.

SOCOG says season tickets are for the sports fan who wants to follow the sport from the early rounds right through to the gold medal climax.

But the Sports Pass also ensures organisers maximum income from the first round ticket offer.

It's all a question of how much of sport you want to see and how much you're willing to pay.
